First Day into work in Infy Chennai

The First day in SAM CHN-2.The day when Kishore divided the freshers into 2 batches…Adaikkammai, Arathi, Jairam, Jeevan, Kalyani, Saravanan, Siva, Thiruppathy and myself were allotted into TTI team. We were actually queer to start our work off in this new project… this being r first entry into the corporate world. We were introduced to Venkatas..one of our PLs…who took us to our cubicles….I wont forget my cube where I first started my Infy career IV-SL-2070.. the heavenly place in the TTI offshore team. We were then very quiet li’l cherubs…talking amongst ourselves…..Staying away from the other team members…
Our favorite secy,Ranjani gave us the path to the location where we could find the java docs so that we could start our self-study. We were then given the business KT by Venkatas who told us about the project and also about our client. The first one week in TTI sailed away smoothly before we were put into different tiers, Mid-Tier and Client Tier. We were given our modules…I had to take up CRTL and EXPD modules…Hope it is still going on good in the production side..;) thoroughly guided by my PL-Prakash SK. We were then invited for the team party at Hotel Savera. We were initially unwilling to join them. But we were coerced by Venkatas and VijayNK to join them and ultimately had to give in. We were silent spectators there in the hotel, just introducing ourselves. Thereafter, we slowly got accustomed to the TTI team and also the n number of parties that we attended (though the number would be easily countable).
Then came the night-outs and all the untimely hours of coding, the late dinner at the Ananda Bhavan that is close to Infy. These memories are still afresh in my mind. I actually don’t remember when I really got close to all the teammates here. I guess everyone would have noticed the lots of MSN sessions that Kalyani, Arathi(my close friends in TTI) and myself used to have. Then, all of a sudden, Arathi was shifted to Hyderabad. It was a huge blow to Kalyani and me. But then we came over that also. Actually we enjoyed more after she left us (Oops…I forgot Arathi would also read this….:o))
I then had to take up ONOR module with Sivasubramanian guiding me. My first module which gave me complete satisfaction. In between all this came up my appraisal where I got useful feedback from ShivA which I hope to utilize in my future projects.
I was then shifted into the testing team where I was put under the leadership of
Balaji Sunder.I was initially unhappy to leave my cube (Home! Sweet Home) but then, I enjoyed the cube shift. Indeed, the team was livelier than I expected..What say..Balaji!!
Days sailed by and I stepped into another year in my life…my birthday had come.
I was sure I would escape without anyone knowing it. But I was mistaken. Kalyani (My sweet friend) had disclosed that to our secy .Lo and Behold, when I came back after my Dot Net training on Mar.12, my inbox was flooded with mails from all the members wishing me. Truly, that was my best Birthday ever. Thanks to Kalyani.
Then came the Kodai Trip.We had ultimate fun there at Kodai. And the day to Bid adieu also came along. We had to decide upon a venue for the farewell party that we had to give. Everyone was jealous that eight of us were pooling in for the party. Finally we went to Hot Kitchen for the dinner. That was a party in which I felt that I was truly going to miss this team.
I really had to write out a thanks mail with a heavy heart that it is not too long before I would be out of this TTI environment. Just as I typed Ctrl-Enter, I started receiving responses to my mails. Wishes flew from far across the nation …From Sivasubramanian, Prakash..Far across the state…Bixapathi, Tarun..And also from all here at our Infy, Chn.Special thanks to Vijay for having foreseen the storm after the 45 days of serenity and Thanks also to Jeff to have reminded us that we only come back if we finish our E&R exams. The eight of us here who have to leave were overwhelmed by the wishes. Now, this being my last day here in TTI, Chennai ..Thanks.. once again to all of the TTI-offshore ites for having been with us throughout, helping us whenever needed.

Memories come forever ; ever
Since you remember
Things that we did ; and
Made a mess of it..
The friendly glances
Memories of the people
Who came by you
Worked with you
You’ll never forget
Neither will I
Of that shortest period
Longer than the sky
Vaster than the cosmos
Memories are alive forever ; ever
Since you remember.
